Iris vs CaseEasy

CaseEasy has been serving RCICs since 2017 and covers the ground every Canadian immigration practice needs. Iris is built for a narrower practice than that: one whose caseload runs through Quebec, and one that places students as well as filing permits. Quebec selection — CAQ, CSQ, Arrima, MIFI — is part of the case record rather than a note field, and a student's admission sits on the same client as their study permit. If your practice is federal-only and works in English, CaseEasy is the more proven choice and we will say so.

Who Each Tool Is Built For

Choose CaseEasy if…

CaseEasy suits an established consultancy filing mainly federal streams, working mainly in English, that wants a platform with years of track record behind it. When you are trusting software with regulated client files, time in market counts for something, and CaseEasy has more of it than we do.

Choose Iris if…

Iris is for consultants whose caseload runs through Quebec — a CAQ before the study permit, a CSQ before permanent residence, an Arrima declaration, MIFI correspondence with its own deadlines — and for practices that also place students and are tired of the admission living in a spreadsheet while the permit lives in the CRM.

Why Switch from CaseEasy?

  • ✓Your Quebec files are tracked in a spreadsheet beside the CRM because the CRM has no concept of a CAQ or a CSQ
  • ✓You place students as well as filing permits, and nothing joins the offer letter to the study permit
  • ✓You work in French with clients and want the interface and the client-facing documents to follow
  • ✓You want a roadmap set by someone who files the same forms you do, this week, for their own clients

Iris vs CaseEasy — Common Questions

Is Iris a full replacement for CaseEasy?+

Honestly: trial both on real files before you move. CaseEasy has been in this market since 2017 and Iris has not. Iris covers client records, case files, documents, retainers, deadlines and billing, and adds Quebec selection tracking and study-abroad admissions that CaseEasy does not advertise. If there is one specific CaseEasy capability your practice runs on, ask us directly — we will tell you plainly whether Iris does it yet.

How does Iris compare to CaseEasy on price?+

We do not quote CaseEasy’s pricing on this page. Vendor plans change, and a stale comparison table is worse than no table at all — read their plans from their own site, and ours from the pricing section at withiris.ca. For a sense of the market: VisaNauta publishes a flat $59–$279/month band with no commission on client fees, which is the only published range we can point to without guessing. In practice this decision comes down to fit rather than a large price gap.

Can I move my client and case data out of CaseEasy?+

Client records, contacts and case history come across by CSV export and import; documents come across as files. We do the mapping with you rather than handing you a template and wishing you luck — migrating regulated files mid-year is not a thing to get wrong, and a bad import is the most common reason a switch goes badly.

Does Iris handle CICC compliance the way a mature platform does?+

CICC compliance is the price of entry in this category, not a selling point — CaseEasy is built around it and so is Iris, and we are not going to pretend we invented record keeping. Iris writes a full activity trail on every case, carries a projected destruction date on closed files so retention is visible rather than remembered, and can export a complete file when the regulator asks for one. We build compliance to parity and compete on Quebec and on admissions instead.
