Iris vs VisaNauta
VisaNauta sets the bar on compliance in this market, publishes its pricing, and does not hide behind a demo request. On CICC record keeping Iris builds to that bar rather than arguing with it. The difference is territory and scope. Quebec selection — CAQ, CSQ, Arrima, MIFI — appears nowhere in the VisaNauta materials we reviewed in September 2026, and no RCIC platform we reviewed handles study-abroad admissions. If your caseload is Quebec-heavy or you also place students, that is the gap Iris was built to fill.
What is VisaNauta?
VisaNauta is a Canadian immigration case-management platform, and the most transparent vendor in this market about what it sells. Its public materials state flat pricing of $59–$279/month with no commission on client fees, a "CICC Audit Trail™", six-year Object Lock document retention, one-click CICC inspection export, automated Section 23/24 agreements, IRCC form auto-fill, and CRS assessment across a claimed 35+ pathways.

Who Each Tool Is Built For
VisaNauta is a strong fit for a federal-stream practice that wants compliance as the headline feature, published pricing with no surprises, and a portal-only communication policy. Its compliance tooling is the most explicitly marketed in this category, and if that is the box you most need ticked it is a serious contender.
Iris is for the Quebec-facing practice and the hybrid immigration-plus-admissions agency. If your files routinely involve a CAQ, a CSQ, an Arrima declaration or MIFI correspondence, or if you place students into programs before you file their permits, Iris models work that a federal-only platform has no fields for.
Why Switch from VisaNauta?
- ✓Your compliance box is already ticked and Quebec is the part still done by hand
- ✓You file with MIFI as often as with IRCC and want both tracked on the same case
- ✓You run study-abroad placements alongside immigration files
- ✓Your clients correspond with you in French and you want the software to do the same
Iris vs VisaNauta — Common Questions
VisaNauta argues a client portal removes the compliance risk of email and SMS. Is that fair?+
It is a fair point and worth pressing every vendor on, us included. Client documents moving over unencrypted email is a real exposure. Our answer is not to wave it away: messaging runs through the WhatsApp Business API rather than a personal handset, every message is written into the case activity log so nothing lives only on somebody's phone, and documents land in the case file rather than an inbox. Iris also supports portal-style secure upload if that is your firm policy. Ask us to show you exactly how it works during a trial.
How does Iris compare to VisaNauta on price?+
VisaNauta is the one competitor whose pricing we will quote, because they publish it themselves: a flat $59–$279/month band with no commission on client fees. That is a genuinely good way to sell software and we are not going to sneer at it. Ours is published at withiris.ca. Read both from the source, then decide on fit rather than on the difference.
VisaNauta has a deeper compliance feature list. Why would I switch?+
You should not switch for compliance — that is their strength and our parity requirement, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. Switch if the Quebec half of your caseload is being managed outside the software, or if you are running an admissions pipeline in parallel with your immigration files. Those are the two things Iris does that we could not find any competitor doing.
Does Iris retain closed files for the required period?+
CICC compliance is the price of entry in this category, not a selling point — VisaNauta is built around it and so is Iris, and we are not going to pretend we invented record keeping. Iris writes a full activity trail on every case, carries a projected destruction date on closed files so retention is visible rather than remembered, and can export a complete file when the regulator asks for one. We build compliance to parity and compete on Quebec and on admissions instead.
